ORIGIN STORY

The entire Novatrope journey began in October 2017, when we came across a series of art pieces online that illustrated a ground-breaking discovery: that flowers appear to infinitely bloom when spun under a strobe light. Christmas was coming up so we cobbled together a couple haphazard attempts at prototypes and gave them all away..

NUTS AND BOLTS

Our Christmas gifts went over like lead balloons, but it’s the thought that counts, so we spent the entire next year developing the software that generates the Novatrope sculptures, and re-designing the Strobe Docks that bring them to life. Just like that, we had a halfway decent product on our hands, so we prematurely quit our day jobs and started trying to sell Novatropes.

RE-INVENTING OURSELVES

At this point our software worked much better than our Strobe Docks, so we went back to the drawing board and did a second re-design from the ground up. The design we came up with swapped the overhead strobe light for an internally lit LED ring, and had a hand-crafted wooden base made by our co-founder’s father David Keeber in Sedona, Arizona. We were happy with the new model so we took it to Kickstarter and our backers agreed.

2 LEGIT 2 QUIT

Once our Kickstarter orders were fulfilled, we were featured on a couple Youtubers’ videos, and began fulfilling orders as fast as we could. Through much effort and toil, we refined our methods and refined our product quality. We now produce Novatropes as fast as we can sell them, and have big plans to grow further in 2021!
