Vortex represents a completely new way to mathematically generate our sculptures. Rather than placing petals along golden spirals, we cut out the extra step and generated it purely from the spirals themselves.

In order to create this Novatrope, 13 clockwise spirals and 8 counterclockwise were plotted in polar coordinates (for the smoothest curvature possible), extruded, then contoured like a vortex using a Boolean intersect.

The result is a novel type of Novatrope that reaches a brand new level of trance-like beauty.
